South America
So it’s finally happening and I’m heading to South America!!!! :D
A couple of months ago I remember including this in my plans for 2014 and wondering how big a dent it was going to make on my savings. But thanks to Skyscanner and the love from you guys, the burden of paying for my own flight has been lifted. So big thank you to everybody who voted and shared!
I’ll be starting my 76 days journey from Rio De Janeiro in Brazil, traveling by overland bus across Bolivia and Peru towards Ecuador, before flying back to Brazil to meet @hertakeonlife for the last week. The route looks vaguely like this.
No idea when I’ll be where yet and stuff will definitely change, but don’t forget to link up if you’re going to be in South America.
Usually I prefer to plan on the go, but I got too stoked thinking about traveling to the other end of the World that this *erm* happened. I mean how can one not right? There’s the World Cup, Nazca alien drawings, llamas at Machu Picchu, Darwin’s friends at the Galapagos Islands and the World’s scariest swing at Banos! I just hope body language and a couple of broken Spanish phrases that I’ve yet to learn will be enough to get me by.
Anyway feel free to stalk/follow my journey across South America on Instagram (@Pohtecktoes) and my blog cause there might be a few surprises in store for those who do. More details soon. ;)
10 more days before I’ll be gone for awhile so ketchup before that if possible!

Wow! How did you manage this?!
hi, came across your blog while surfing randomly…hope you completed your trp and safely back now….
just like to check with you on one thing – did you take a yellow fever vaccination for this trip?…. it’s a costly thing which i want to avoid but worried i will run into trouble without it when crossing borders in south america…thanks in advance for your advice!….
Hey Michael,
Thanks and I’m safely back!
Anyway yes I got the yellow fever jab but was never checked during my time there. My feel though is that it’s better to be safe. You don’t want to get yellow fever or be turned back just because you don’t have the vaccination.
I heard there are places where you can get free yellow fever vaccination in South America. You might want to google that if you have time.
I would love to know how to make this kind of pictures with your travel route!!! I always wanted to know it!!!
If you could answer to my email upar_naserg@hotmail.com would be awesome!!
and man.. really, i love all your adventures… I hope i have some sabatic years to explore the world like you!! I dont complain to date!!! travelling as much as possible….
Enjoy your days!!!
Hey Pablo!
Thank you so much. I’ve dropped you a mail.
It’s a matter of choice really… I’m sacrificing certain aspects of my life to pursue this dream too. :)
