Epic South America in 3 mins – Walk, Bump, Discover
4 countries, 76 days, US$4.9k, and tons of activities packed into 3 minutes on my GoPro. Check out the full budget breakdown and secrets to how I managed to keep my costs low too.
This South America trip to Brazil, Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador is by far the most epic of all trips I’ve done. From the Iguazu Falls, Uyuni Salt Flats, to Machu Picchu and the Galapagos Islands, there are breathtaking landscapes and activities in every country.
As with everywhere I go, I try to walk and take public transport whenever it’s possible (and safe enough). Not only do you save money, but you get to bump into locals and discover the little nooks and crannies of the place. This time I also tried to use the excuse that I was making a fist bumping video to break the ice whenever I meet new people. Sorry if I fist bumped you and it’s not inside! It was impossible to include everyone. :P
There is so much more I would like to share in the video, but I guess it will have to be left for next time.
Anyway, in case you’re wondering, these are the places I’ve visited in order of appearance after the intro. Click on the link to read more about my experience!
Bolivia – 0:34 to 1:09
Salar de Uyuni Salt Flats; La Paz (World’s Most Dangerous Road); Sucre; Potosi Mines
Brazil – 1:10 to 1:56
Peru – 1:57 to 2:14
Huacachina (Sandboarding); Machu Picchu
Ecuador – 2:15 to 2:57
Hope this inspires you to travel to South America one day. Honestly, it isn’t as dangerous as what everyone says! Just be travel savvy and everything will be ok. Drop a comment if you have any questions. :)
