He’s an energetic cross between a miniature schnauzer and a french bulldog.
Then there’s Mr. Carrot,
the three legged ginger cat who brings joy to everyone around him.
Coming from a family that never had pets, I’ve always wondered whether I will have a dog or cat at my own place in the future. Despite spending various stints looking after Cookie (whenever my sister travels) and living with Mr. Carrot for awhile, I’m still pretty undecided.
Dogs are really warm and I love coming back home to someone that welcomes and loves you so much. Cats are really nonchalant though but I love how funny they are in their own annoying kind of way that lifts you up too. Check out the video below to see how dogs and cats fare as friends if they are human. lol.
That said, I think lifestyle plays a big part in deciding the type of pet to keep too. I’ll always remember this commandment of dog ownership after watching the movie “10 Promises to my Dog”:
Treat me kindly, my beloved friend, for no heart in all the world is more grateful for your kindness than mine. Don’t be angry with me for long, and don’t lock me up as punishment. After all, you have your job, your friends, your entertainment. I have only you.
To you it may just be a dog, but to the dog you are the world to them. Which is why I guess the more responsible option is to have a cat since I like them both and can’t sacrifice too much of my lifestyle too.
And oh yes, adopt instead of buying animals from pet mills please!
