Staycation with HotelQuickly
What I thought would be another normal birthday weekend ended up with a surprise staycation!
I love surprises. It can in all shapes, sizes, and form. Whether it’s just a simple postcard from an unexpected destination or an impromptu traveling opportunity.
You can imagine my reaction when I found out I’d be getting a staycation weekend for my birthday (courtesy of HotelQuickly).
Knowing it was my birthday, HotelQuickly contacted Cherie to help plan a little something special.
For us, a day packed with adventures is our norm. We’re huge lovers of the outdoors, anything new and action packed so we’ve been activity hopping non stop at every opportunity we had in Singapore. Plus, we are hardly around together in the country.
Having a rare weekend free, a staycation was more than desirable.
I had no idea where we’d be going as I was blind folded from home (read: kidnapped to sell attempt). But having a thing for lofts and high ceilings, I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Studio M.
Upon check in, it was nice to not only check into a really chick and cosy room but it was thoughtfully prepared with balloons and mini cupcakes!
Just when I thought that was the bulk of the surprise, I heard “let’s leave here in 5 minutes!” :O
Blind folded again, I only found out after a 15 minute drive that we were going to bring our chilling weekend to the next level.
I’ve actually had this sensory deprivation experience about a year back but going for a second time felt entirely different. It was a really nice and timely opportunity to recharge from the months of sleep deprivation (gosh, so much has happened the last 12 months!).
After 60 minutes, we both came out feeling well rested and really Zen-ed! In fact, I’ve never seen Cherie this zen EVER. If you guys have super gan chiong friends that need to chill and namaste, I’d highly recommend this.
Being entirely zen-ed, the least I expected next was a party. Little did I know, Cherie had invited my 3 best friends over for pre-drinks before heading to Club Kyo.
Thanks to the guys at HotelQuickly, they also got us a table booked at Club Kyo with a round of free drinks for everyone.
With good music, a bit of alcohol (maybe a lot) and great company, it wasn’t hard to have a good time!
Overall, I guess all the little unexpected surprises made this birthday a truly memorable one. Feeling really loved.
